New look!

Image
As you can see my blog has a new look to it. I will get all my links back up over the next week or so, I didn't know that when you back up your blog that it only backs up the template and not any of your links or widgets. Always a learning curve!!! Thank you to everyone who stopped by on Sunday at the "Art at the Mill" show in Millwood, Virginia. Even though it was a bit hot in the mill I enjoyed visiting and talking to everyone. I would also like to present my latest drawing "Contemplation (Chimpanzee)." I finished this up last week just in time to send it off for submission into an upcoming exhibition which I should find out the results in a month or so. As you can see I am also using the image as my new blog banner at the top. "Contemplation ( Chimpanzee )," Graphite pencil, 6 x 15

Back from Nashville, TN

Image
My family and I enjoyed a little down time visiting some of our friends in Nashville, Tennessee last week. Now I'm unpacked and back in the studio. The friend that we went to go visit is Matt Ramsey who is a singer and songwriter, extremely talented! I put a link to his web page under "Talent feeds Talent" section in the side bar to the right, if you haven't already checked it out, then please do so now. Thanks Matt, Sara, and Janey for a great and relaxing time. Below is the current piece that I am working on. I am trying to get this done by early next week so that I can submit it to an upcoming exhibit. The image is just part of the overall composition.

Another time-lapsed video

Here is my newest time-lapsed video demonstrating how I painted "Reflected Green (Green Heron)." I also re edited the last one and have reloaded that to the blog as well, it was two posts ago. Enjoy! Video is being re-edited, I will repost soon!

Art of the Animal Kingdom XIV

"Out of the Darkness (Saw-whet Owl)" has been selected as one of the just under 90 pieces for this years Art of the Animal Kingdom XIV. Art of the Animal Kingdom is a prestigious exhibition that pulls from some of the top wildlife art talent that's out there. The exhibition is held annual at the Bennington Center for the Arts in Bennington, Vermont and will open June 13 and end on July 26, 2009. This years special guest artist and juror is Terry Isaac. Being juried into this years show is an honor to me since Terry's work is some of the first wildlife artwork that I started to look at about ten years ago. His work and some others are what helped to push me towards what I do today. "Out of the Darkness (Saw-whet Owl)," Graphite pencil, 5 x 11 "Out of the Darkness" was also selected for the 2008 Kentucky National Wildlife Art Exhibit and was awarded the Stonebridge Promotions Award from that exhibition.
