A departure from the norm

I thought I would do something a little different. Below is the composition sketch for a "portrait" of a rat which I still might mess around with a little. I wanted a spot light effect in the background but I am not sure if I like the hard edge on the right. And below the composition sketch is the start of the actual piece. When finished the drawing will be 4" x 16." This piece should move along fairly quickly which is good because I am entering it into a show in two weeks.

Dam Painting update

Work in progress... A quick update on the "Dam Painting."  I have finished drawing in the under drawing and believe that it is now ready to have some color added to it! Although I more than likely will not do that for a couple of more weeks, after school starts back in so that I can have larger blocks of time to paint. Until then you can see the finished under drawing below and I will get to work on the next under drawing for another painting, this one is of a beautiful roof line from Charleston , South Carolina.

RAS drawing nears completion

The RAS drawing draws near to completion. It will be wrapped up by Tuesday and I will post the finished drawing along with its title on Wednesday, October 31. I have gotten some good suggestions so far for the title, but keep them coming. Title suggestions so far: "Morning Coffee" "Coffee Break" "I Asked for Tea!"
